Mandatory Become a Member of BPJS Health, Here's How to Register Online

Currently, participation in BPJS Health is mandatory. That means, all Indonesian citizens must be participants.  If you are not yet a member of BPJS Kesehatan, there is no need to worry. There is an easy way to register for BPJS Health without queuing, which is done online.

BPJS Health registration online makes it easy for prospective participants because they only need to use a smartphone via the Mobile JKN application. The public also no longer needs to come directly to the nearest BPJS Kesehatan branch office.

How to register for BPJS Health online can be done using the Mobile JKN application which can be downloaded on your cellphone via the Google Play Store or App Store.  

By using the Mobile JKN application, participants can access various features that can help BPJS participants in needing health services such as doctor consultations and health screenings.  

Next, prepare the BPJS Health registration requirements online such as a cellphone number, email address. Population Identification Number (NIK), and Family Card Number (KK). 

Here's how to register for BPJS Health online via the Mobile JKN application: 

1. Open the Mobile JKN application. Click Register. Select New Participant Registration. 
2. Read the terms of registration, click Agree. Enter NIK KTP. 
3. Type the captcha code. The page will display a list of family data and prospective BPJS Health participants. 
4. Fill in your personal data, then click Next. Select the desired health facility (faskes), including a dentist. 
5. Enter an active email address. Click Save. A verification code will be sent to the registered email address. 
6. Check the incoming email and copy the verification code into the Mobile JKN application. 
7. Participants will get a virtual account for premium payments. 
8. Payment of dues can be made through e-commerce, mobile banking, ATMs, post offices, or at various BPJS Kesehatan merchants such as minimarkets.  
9. If you have finished registering BPJS Health online and making payments, the participant is officially registered with BPJS Health. 

BPJS Health Cards can be accessed on the Mobile JKN application. Participants can print it to become a physical card or use the digital card every time they will seek treatment at a health facility.  Payment of BPJS Health contributions must be made no later than the 10th of each month. 

The amount of BPJS Health contributions in 2022 for class I is Rp. 150,000, class II is Rp. 100,000, and Class III is Rp. 35,000.  Don't forget to always pay BPJS Health contributions every month according to the service class you take. The reason is that participants who are late in paying dues will be subject to a late fee.
